How do you fix a broken hip?
A hip fracture, also known as a broken hip, most often requires surgery. The surgery needed depends upon the type of fracture. A femoral neck fracture is when the ball in a ball-and-socket hip joint is fractured, treatment varies according to the age of the patient and the level of displacement in the fracture. An intertrochanteric hip fracture happens right below the femoral neck and usually requires a plate to be placed with screws to stabilize the fracture.
