How do I get my former stepfather out of the VA mental hospital? He first committed himself because he felt confused, but when he wanted to leave they wouldn't let him and he started to threaten them. They then got a court order to commit him on the grounds that he is a danger to homself and others. I want to take him home, but he doesn't have guardianship papers or anything. Please, how can I help him? The longer he is there the more upset he gets. He has had multiple strokes, but he is able to do about anything, just a little slower.
