What or how do I get help, for a 76 yr old father drinking to the point of falling down?
My brother has this same problem from years of drinking. He is only 58. When he got out of the hospital this last time, we went to his bank and put my name on his checking acct. He gets social security disability. So I started paying his rent and bills and grocery shopping for him, since he is not able to do this with the alcohol dementia and giving him no money for alcohol. He is able to manage in his apt with me and his friends checking up on him. So he is doing better. So I would say if your father doesn't have the money to buy alcohol he won't drink. If you can somehow manage the money he gets. If he is as bad as you say I don't think you would have any trouble.
