My Dad is in a subsidized facility and hates it. He has fronto-temporal dementia. He has always been a difficult person to deal with. He complained to my son several times and my son offerred to take him in. I can't have him because we don't get along and only have 1 bathroom and he has bladder issues (catheter, etc). It iwll ruin my marriage also. My son feels obligated because my Dad gave him part of the sale of his home and other things. They have 3 bathrooms. His wife said yes but both my sister and I are dead set against it. I know he'll cause problems with them as he can be very demanding and nasty. My sister lives 2 hours away and her hosue has too many stairs. He can't afford anywhere else. These places are all $3000-$4000 a month and he has an income of less than $2000. I feel sorry for him but he's impossible to live with. He is 90 and could last a long time. What can we do?
