i am looking for help in locating a long term care home for my 84 year old mother in law who has Alzheimer's. most facilities here in my area (MONTEREY COUNTY,CALIFORNIA) only seem to deal with "normal aging adults" is how it was put to me. Can you point me in the right direction to find a safe and reputable facility for my mom in law?

Several national databases offer options to search for housing by level of care as well as by location. There may not be a dedicated Alzheimer's facility in your area, but there are several who offer mixed levels of care. You may also search for Medicare/Medicaid certified facilities by county.
