Can sundown syndrome and dementia make my mother-in-law see people?

Question

My mother-in-law is is 79 years old and on Darvocet for back pain. She thinks this medication is making her see people. She has been told she has dementia. She also gets confused at night time and maybe has sumdown symdrome. Could the sundown and dementia make her see people? What can I do for her with these symtoms?
