Does Humira cause MS?
There is no definitive proof that Humira causes Multiple Sclerosis or any neurological disorder. For one thing, the medication is not old enough to have such long-term effects proven conclusively. Also, the FDA evaluates every medication thoroughly before it allows them to be prescribed to patients, and it found no data indicating Humira can cause Multiple Sclerosis. Though Humira does occasionally have some serious side effects, such as chest pain and nervousness, it has not been proven at all that Multiple Sclerosis can come from long term use of the medication. In fact, the exact cause of the disease is not yet even known, but it is thought to be genetic.
