Does Humana cover assisted living for Alzheimer's patients?
The only type of insurance that pays for assisted living is long term care insurance. If you have health care insurance or a Medicare Supplement from Humana, it does not pay for assisted living. If you have a long term care insurance policy, you need to check the coverage to see if assisted living is covered. Most of the newer policies cover assisted living, unless they are restricted to home care only or nursing home only. There is a page in every long term care policy that specifies exactly what the coverage includes. Or you can call the insurance company for this information.
