Does Advair cause high blood pressure?
Answers
Advair contains Salmeterol, which is a chemical that is known to cause increased blood pressure. Salmeterol is a beta agonist, which is directly the opposite of a beta blocker (which is used as medication to decrease high blood pressure). However, there have not been any reports from clinical studies that prove that Advair actually causes high blood pressure. People that have high blood pressure, though, needs to take caution when using Advair and may need to consult with their doctor first. With careful monitoring and constant checking on their blood pressure for any fluctuation in numbers, people can take Advair harmlessly. Also, people taking any beta blocker medications must be forewarned and consulted by their healthcare providers, as these medications may cause adverse effects through Advair drug interactions.
I always had extremely low blood pressure, low, to the point that at times, it was almost undetectable. This state was attributed to my lifestyle, I'm fit, I jog, and I abstain from meat, cheese, milk, & eggs.
Then I was prescribed Advair.
Now, I am in the early stages of hypertension, and pretty damn pissed.
