Does a broken hip always bruise?

A broken hip does not always bruise, although swelling and bruising can most definitely be a sign of a broken bone. Sometimes, people will mistake the swelling and bruising as a minor injury, and not consider that it may be a broken bone. If you have injured your hip it is very important to seek emergency medical attention to find out if your hip is broken, regardless of if your hip is bruised or not.
