Do the pain pills given for broken hips aid in the recovery or just provide pain relief?

Pain Pills do help in both ways being that it does help ease the pain and makes the therapy go easier and you do get faster and better results. Also help you to sleep. I have gone though 9 hip replacements and the use of pain pills do help but with caution. use per Dr's orders. It is easy to get hooked on them. Trust me on that one.

Be sure that the surgeon is aware of your other medical issues, such as high blood pressure. Some pain pills relieve the pain but increase the blood pressure readings.
