Puffy eyes are caused by an accumulation of fluid under the eye. Common causes of this include:

1) Allergies 2) Smoking 3) Alcohol 4) Excess salt intake 5) Thyroid disorder 6) Crying 7) Eye problems 8) Aging

To combat puffy eyes, you must first find out what is causing your problem. You can treat puffy eyes with cool compresses, which will help. Avoid the use of steriod creams, as this can make the skin around your eye more sensitve. If you are still bothered by it, you can visit an opthalmologist to have your eyes evaluated.
