My mother died of a rare children's bone cancer at age 66. She used to have a dull aching in her arms and legs that she attributed to getting older and maybe working too hard on the laundry or walking too far in the mall. She thought it was the onset of arthririts. Even her Dr didn't suspect anything different until one night she peed blood. The cancer had already spread to her kidneys and that's how we discovered it. At first we thought it was kidney cancer and they removed her kidney to study it. That's when we found out it was the bone cancer that had spread. Some people with bone cancer just amputate the part of the limb(s) the cancer is in. My mom had it in the top of both arms and legs so she couldn't do that. She tried chemo but it did not work. She lived 6 months to the day they took her kidney out.
