Would a CAT scan show metastases?

I was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer earlier this year. I had my surgery on April 8, 2009. At that time I was told there was no metastases, however, I was advised to undergo a round of chemo. I opted, instead, for a clinical study of Tarceva. Two days ago I had a CAT Scan and x-ray prior to starting therapy on June 29, 2009. Would the CAT scan show metastases?

This is a technical question that is best asked of your treating oncologists. Metastases on CAT scan is usually clear but there are nuances to this question that need to be individual to you.
