Humira, as they treat autoimmune disorders by suppressing the immune system. Because the immune system is what helps the body fight infection, when it is suppressed, the risk of infection can greatly increase. Among the infections that can become difficult for the body to fight off are acne pimples. People whose immune systems were previously able to fight off the bacteria and infection that cause pimples may experience more acne appearing on their faces and bodies, sometimes even in places where they never had acne before. Topical acne medications are the best solution for keeping the acne at bay, though even these may not be totally effective. Unfortunately, increased susceptibility to acne appears to be one side-effect of Humira and drugs like it.
