In clinical trials Claritin was proven to cause a rise in blood pressure. It is the drug Loratadine that is in Claritin that can cause the rise in blood pressure. This usually does not cause a problem in those with normal blood pressure but anyone that already has high blood pressure should be cautious when taking anything with Loratadine. You should always consult your doctor first.
