The difference between bone cancer and leukemia can be confusing. Primary bone cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the bone. Leukemia is cancer that begins inside the bones, in the bone marrow, where blood is made.

Bone marrow cancers, which include leukemia and multiple myeloma, start in the stem cells of the bone marrow and then spread through the body via the bloodstream. I’ve always thought of leukemia as blood cancer, which makes sense to me.
