Can induction heaters cause bone cancer?
I was concerned about the link between bone cancer and induction heaters because I thought maybe the mini heater I use in my office might not be healthy. But I was way off base.
Induction heaters are mainly used by manufacturers. They’re like big-deal heaters that use an electromagnet and high-frequency currents. Turns out the little heater I have in my office is a ceramic heater, which doesn’t have any kind of magnet in it. It just blows air over a heating element. So I don’t have to worry about microwave radiation. That’s the type of radiation that is put off by cell phones (and induction heaters) and has caused some health concerns.
There are some newfangled stoves that have induction cooking elements. I’m not sure how those work, but from what I’ve read you’d have to spend an awful lot of time over the stove to be affected!
