Good news, an apple core lesion of the colon can be non-malignant. Unfortunately, I don't know much more than that, because I had trouble finding anything in my research. But, I did find at least one scientific article that indicated that an apple core lesion had been found in someone with chrohn's disease and, though it was presumed to be cancerous, it ended up being non-malignant.
