There are many different names that heartburn goes by. Pyrosis is its technical name. Although not completely accurate, many people will use the terms dyspepsia and indigestion as names for heartburn. Heartburn is also commonly referred to as acid reflux, when in actuality it is one of many symptoms of acid reflux, or gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).
