For sure, alcohol and throat cancer are connected. Maybe not moderate drinking, but what doctors call “excessive alcohol use” definitely increases the risk. One of the sites I found said people who drink frequently are six times more likely to get cancer of the mouth or throat. I know also that when someone is diagnosed doctors recommend that they stop drinking to help with recovery.

There are other risk factors, of course, the biggest one being smoking. But definitely alcohol and throat cancer have an important link.
