When can you travel after broken hip surgery?

My mother-in-law is visiting from NC and she fell and broke her hip. The hospital says she will be in hospital for 3-4 days after surgery. She wants to get home as soon as possible and I was wondering if she will be able to travel, and if so, how long after surgery?

She should be able to travel depending on her surgeon's recommendation . Call the doctor's office and speak with the office nurse who will guide you best.
