Bio
My dad passed away in 2004 from cancer (Lung and Brain). In 2005 I was spending a lot of time with my mom. I noticed as time passed she had started to give up on life. She moved in with my family in 2006 and did well until I stated noticing things like mild forgetfulness which I credited to getting older. Then she started not showering as often and not flushing the toilet as well as forgetting where she put things, even her puppy. Forgetting her meds even when they were put out for her. Then when she was going for walks she would take rides from strangers and invite them in. She answered the door in her underclothing when a lady from church came. I have been taking her to a neurologist and she has been diagnosed with mild dementia (in June 2008) now in August of 2009 the diagnosis has changed to severe dementia with alzheimer tendencies. My sister whom I do not get along with came and took mom out of our care in Sept. of this yr because she says mom doesn't have any such disease and we just want her social security check. However she isn't working and doesn't take mom to the Dr for any of her blood work or exams. I am no longer allowed any contact with my mom. I still try my best to keep track of what is happening with her, but know that unless she gets the care she needs she will deteriorate very quickly.
