Hi, My name is Renee Lease. 77 years old retired. Live in Silver Spring, Md. Married 57 years. My husband is in need of help all the time since 1986 when he had his first operation. It was a removal of a kidney due to a tumor found to be cancer. 2nd heart bypass surgery 3rd hip replacement 4th bilateral knee operation, 3rd, carpel tunnel both hands, 5th cateract both eyes, 6th aorta valve replacement, arthritis in both hands preventing him from writing and limited in holding things.He has spinal stenosis from the next to the bottom of the spine and cannot walk without a walker. He really needs a scooter or electric wheel chair at this time. I have been taking care of him thru all the above and although he is a very good patient, he needs help with everything from helping him dress and holding utentils to eat and getting things off shelves and high hooks. He falls alot and cannot get up by himself and needs 2 people to help get him up. He cannot walk steps without 2 people helping him. I am constantly helping him with one thing or another. But,. after 57 years and his taking good care of me up until 20 years ago, I will be there for him at all times. So, this is my story and I do hope there is someone who can commiserate with me.
