Hi, right now I am caregiver to my mom, who is 71, with a diagnosis of FTD and vascular dementia. My husband and I moved from another state to come and care for mom. We were fortunate in that we were able to come to her aid.

We are doing all we can to enable her to remain in her home amidst familiar surrounding. She is aggressive and on ocassion violent. My youngest brother has had mom living in his home this past 10 years. We are now all living in him home. We have two other brothers living elsewhere in the state who basically are in denial. They are johnny on the spot to be critical of mom's care but offer nother in a way of a solution. It is easy to be critical when you are not walking in the caregivers shoes. It is hard work, thankless work, and scrutinized by others less informed with lots of opinions. Would I trade this opportunity to give back to my mom the wonderful years she gave to me. No in a heartbeat.
