Hi, my name is Lisa.
My caregiving career started when is was 12 years old in Reading, PA in 1976. I was a candy striper for the Red Cross, at the Berks Heim. Then consequently I was a candy striper/volunteer at the Topton Lutheran Home in Topton,PA when I was in high school, at that time I received my first CNA certification.(1979-1982)Total time at Topton Lutheran Home. As you read further, as they say," the rest is history."
I am a care giver with over twenty-nine years of consistent experience, since 1976 . I am recently from New York state. I was a certified CNA consecutively in NYS for about ten years 1992-2003 .I worked in HCRF settings and in private homes. I was also employed by New York State DDSO 2002-2004. I received an extensive training and externship, I worked with dually diagnosed individuals with developmental disabilities in the MR population. I also attended Trocaire College(affiliated with Mercy Hospital)in Buffalo, NY from January 1997 to November 1999 .I had one semester left to complete my RN. I got married in January of 2000. I had to leave the program to take care of my then 4yearoldstep son. I was then enrolled in two programs at that time , a 2 year RN and Medical Assistant program. My original certification was in Pennsylvania off and on since 1981. In Pennsylvania,I have also worked in professional and in-home settings. In Pennsylvania I attended Reading Area Community College in 1983-84 I took classes in gerontology and sociology.
I completed the Business Administration (associates degree)and Medical office certification programs at PACE Institute in Reading, PA.1985-86 through 1991 .
I have, vast personal and professional experience with ADL assistance with the special needs population and with rehabilitative and life skills training settings. I have skilled experience with the quadriplegic population and others with TBI and or spinal cord injuries and neurological diseases/disorders. I have worked extensively with hospice/palliative care cases. I have skilled experience with dementia patients and with memory care skills. I have worked with a multi-generational population over the years.
I have been praised over the years for my talents of empathy and great patience , most specifically my abundance of energy and the ability to anticipate peoples needs . I currently work weekends for a gentleman with advanced MS. 2005 to present, his care is fully involved as he requires my total assistance with his ADL's. I would be available for the weekday shifts. I have been with him for three years. I perform medical and non medical ADL's. Some weekends I am off, occasionally I would be free then.
I also have recently gained training and knowledge of care for a woman with advanced ALS, I received instruction and training on ventilator care and skills and care relevant to her condition.
Please check out my web page below, I also have lots of great references. My CPR and First Aide are current. I am registered on ENURGI.com . My educational transcripts are available on request. I also have, copies of my background check and resume if needed.I am an individual not an agency. I think I have covered it all.
Thank you,
Lisa Renee' Brown
