Bio
My Dad fought colon cancer for 3 years...he had a stroke in Oct. 2006...when the doctor told us it was time for hospice care, the initial diagnosing nurse asked me if I had realized that my Mom already was showing the effects of dementia. So I had to scramble, find my Dad a place to die in, my Mother a place to live in, get their house cleaned out, and it is STILL on the market. My brother provides almost no help at all...I have done all of the work since my Father's death, and have power of attorney for my Mom, as well as becoming her representative payee for SS. She sometimes likes the place she lives in, she sometimes hates it, and insists she wants to live alone again, back in her house. Meanwhile, I'm raising 4 teenagers, and trying to get a job as a teacher, while I sub full-time. Fortunately, my in-laws are both still independent, but my husband has six siblings to help him care for them.
