Bio

I am on of the 70 plus million Baby Boomers who are facing issues with aging parents. My mom, Hannah, began her journey of Alzheimer's nearly 2 years ago. My sister and I both did all that we could to keep her home with us, but eventually, she became more than we could handle and is now in a nursing home. She is physically still fairly well, but her mind is getting worse every month. Alzheimer's is a terrible, lingering death and needs much more research and treatment support. This has become a mission of mine...to do what I can to raise public and government awareness of doing more for all forms of Dementia. We Baby Boomers are next in line as victims and the numbers of us will break our country's economy in the near future if we do not do more NOW to address and end this terrible disease.

UPDATE - My mom passed away from Alzheimer's Disease on Jan. 25, 2010 at the age of 91. She led a full and healthy life with the exception of the last 3 years. She's in a better place now and done suffering living the daily nightmare of Alzheimer's. We all miss her but are so happy that she is now with her husband, my dad.
