Bio
I live in Indiana and my mother lives in Maryland. She lived in her home alone for the past 20 years since my father died. A health crisis in the spring caused her to lose her ability to drive. She struggled along, finally a friend of hers called me and said I had to come...the situation had deteriorated rapidly. Once there, Mom decided she could no longer care for her home....so I immersed myself in finding resources, options and mapping out steps. Fortunately she sold her home right before the downturn and settled into her choice retirement community. The whole experience was, at times, intense and stressful but brought us closer than ever. I started a blog to detail all we learned and tips for others. I want to keep learning about aging and care issues so I can help my mother and also lend support to others needing to help their parents.
Thank you. Dale
