Bio

My mother lives in a continuing care facility and still has her own apartment although she has caregivers who 'drop' in on her. Her medications are minimal, thyroid and estrogen. She is not allowed to leave the building without a caregiver. Recently, she has not paid her bills regularly and I hired a bookkeeper to assist her. She refuses to give the bookkeeper all the information she needs. I will be traveling to see her in October to get things under control. If she is consistent with her behavior in the past, she will do her best to keep me from getting the necessary information to handle her financial situation. Her response is always along the lines of "What do you think I am? Stupid?" This next trip my husband will accompany me to help me do what is necessary instead of caving in to my mother's demands. Her attitude is consistent with her attitude when she was much younger so the dementia isn't making it any worse. I am an only child.
