Bio

My name is Mary Beth and my husband Jim. I'm 44 years old and Jim is 49. We live in North Carolina, just over the Virginia border and my parents live in Virginia, just over the North Carolina border.

My dad has heart disease (has had a few heart attacks, one major), diabetes and is in remission from lung cancer. He is 76 years old.

My mom had a brain stem stroke in April of 08 and almost died three times. She has an awful kidney disease and has a huge stone in one of her kidneys however, it can not be removed because she had or still has blood clots in her lungs which we didn't find out about till months later. She's dizzy and now we know it's some of her medicines that are causing this. She goes from a walker to a cane back to a walker depending on the day and how she's feeling. She is 71 years old.

I have two brothers who live 4 and 5 hours away from myself as well as mom and dad however, they're of no help what so ever. My husband and I as well as my dad are taking care of mom. Mom is doing what she can when she can. They live 32 miles north of us which is very hard on us to get to them on a moments notice.
