Bio

I"m a 60 year old roommate of an 80 yr old "frail elder" with two broken hips and a pacemaker. I have become his sole caregiver by default (due to proximity). With the exception of bathing and financial, over the past 6 years I have taken on the responsibilities of shopping, meals preparation, housecleaning, laundry, dog care (I love Fritz). He goes to senior "day care" twice weekly. He refuses to cooperate with any request I might make shouting "stop badgering and harassing me!" He tells me I am "just a roommate" have "no rights," to put up or shut up or, his favorite, "get the hell out of here." He has made anti-Semitic remarks (I'm Jewish), tells me often how much he hates me and wishes that I will soon die (I have a benign brain tumor, degenerative cervical spine disease and a yet-to-diagnosed Central Nervous System "disorder"). Financially, I can't afford to move having been refused insurance due to my "pre-existing" I pay out-of-pocket for medical expenses. Any attempts to reason "please double lock the door" are met with derision. Any suggestions to improve quality of life are scoffed at and ignored.
