I loved Gorham House above and beyond, but they didn't have any openings. I liked the place, I liked the people there, and I liked the levels of care that they have. It's a comfortable place to live when you go in and out, and that's where I would have taken my father. The two beds in a two-bedroom had a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom. It was small but adequate. I liked it very much. It had a microwave and a refrigerator. There was a daycare right there on the grounds, which was lovely.

I like the Gorham House. It's just that my wife needed to be in nursing care and they didn't have any beds in the nursing care area. I went to look at the assisted care unit, but the administrator there felt that my wife would need to be in the nursing care unit. My visit went very well. The people were very nice there and I liked the facility. I would recommend that facility to anyone. It's in a very nice area. It's not a crowded area. It's near to shopping and it's very well maintained. The dining room and living room areas were very well maintained. They're very nice. They have a lot of activities for the people there every day. It's a very well-maintained facility with good people that work there. They have courtyards, a garden out there, and some nice areas where you can go for walks around the building. It's very well maintained outside as well.

I visited Gorham House. They're very pleasant, but it is beyond my price range. I specifically visited independent living. It is a nicely laid out place, and it looked good, but it costs more than I wanted to pay, and I could get a very similar accommodation at the same price here in Portland and not have to drive to Gorham, which I don't want to do because it is just not my neighborhood. It's a fine place, but not what I want. The staff was very pleasant. It was a very nice atmosphere. It was clean and well laid out. It was a place I would haven't minded living, but it wasn't outstanding in my eyes. The lady who showed me around was quite nice.

Gorham House is very good. The room is good and I would describe it as clean. We moved in all the furniture. It's now homey because we moved in my dad's furniture. I wouldn't say it's spacious, but it's adequate for space. The staff is very nice, and if I call them they call me back. The staff has been very good. They have movies, there was a parade outside last week from Gorham High School National Honor Society, like a Christmas parade, they had a reindeer; some lady came with reindeers on Friday afternoon. I don't know enough about the food yet, because I can't go in there with COVID. My understanding is the food is fine.

The staff members who gave me the tour of Gorham House Gorham ME were great. Most of the rooms are kind of what I would say are standard one-bedroom type apartments. There were social type things going on like a chair exercise session and things like that. The building is nice, though it's not as modern as some of the others that I've seen.

I like Gorham House. My mother is in independent plus, which is independent living plus a little bit of help with medications. The staff is amazing, and 80% of them have been there for 20 years or more. The food is average. They have a super busy social life with a lot of activities. It's a comfortable, healthy, warm, and loving place for an old lady.

I toured all the levels of care at Gorham House. It's a very nice community. The place is very clean and it had a good amount of space. If I'm looking for a place for my mom right now, I would move her there even though it's a little far from our place. We saw the dining area. I was very impressed with the whole place and they have everything I was looking for. They staff was very welcoming. I have a friend who has her mother living there and they're also very happy with the place.

My mom is very happy at Gorham House. The staff is very caring and nice. The administration is very helpful when you have issues and tend to it quickly. The food and the chef are very good and cater to people if there's a certain thing that they really like. On special days, he comes out and makes sure they're happy. They have a lot of good activities, and people come in and play old music. They have entertainment and social hours two days a week where they provide cheese and crackers. It's a very nice facility, and we're very happy with it. She's in one of the larger units: a two-bedroom with three big closets, which she likes, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. When you move in, they repaint everything according to what colors you want and redo carpet and flooring, so it feels like you're going into a new unit, which is very nice. There are also lots of windows, so it's nice.

I like Gorham House very much. I am in the independent living unit. When I started, I got the names of all the houses in two counties, checked them all out and this is the one I liked. I walked out of many houses that are beutiful, but they are all old people. We walked in here and they were having a good time. I have a nice three bedroom apartment. I just came from the dining area and its fine as well as the food. In other words, I'm quite happy with the place.

My mom has been at Gorham House for three years. She's started out in the independent plus unit and the end of last year, she had to go to rehab. Then she went right from rehab to the assisted living and next week she's going to the Alzheimer's unit. So, she's been in four units. In all four units, I have to give them 5 stars. I never had a negative experience. Everybody has bent over backwards. They're friendly, helpful and have mom's best interest at heart as well as mine. I also have to point out that every staff member in that Gorham House addresses every resident by their name and makes them feel like family. They're just so always supportive and open to listen to your concern. I was concern about the tub and my mom falling that they immediately put in a shower. I mean they were just so on it all the time. I also think the nurses are in competition in who could be the sweetest. I just love them. All day long they have somethingtoo. Of course, with my mom's Alzheimer's, she doesn't join in on all the activities. Every day they have listings of activities for the residents. In addition, my mom is very happy with the food. She never had any complaints about it at all. I have eaten there a couple of times too. The food is good and has a good variety. They have the option of eating in their rooms if they're not feeling good but of course that's nothing probably out of the ordinary. The dining room is lovely. It's carpeted with table cloth linens. I'm so blessed my mom is there.

Gorham House and the staff were very nice. They had different levels of care, from independent, to assisted, to memory care. They had a nursery school on the same campus, so the older adults can see the younger kids. They had a nice dining room. It seemed like a very engaged community.

They're very nice at Gorham House, had activities all of the time, and allowed volunteers to come in and do certain activities. I would recommend them because they are friendly, allow you to have freedom, and has roomy apartments. You have a choice of one-bedroom or two-bedroom, and they're big enough for independent living. You can go into assisted living there.

My father was recently in Gorham House for Rehab services and it is the worst facility I have ever seen. The food was terrible and the care was horrific. When nursing was called it took them over 30 minutes for someone to respond. The bed he was in had a huge hole in it and when asked to have it replaced or at least turned over there was no assistance. He ended up with a class 2 bed sore because they never turned him and the mattress was not modern at all which would have compensated for his movement. He was scheduled to get physical therapy and he never once saw a PT. He ended up returning to Maine Medical Center for treatment for pneumonia and the bed sore.

We had a family member in this facility. The daily care givers were absolutely the best. Our problem is with the administration. They make many promises that never happen. Their lack of honesty & communication with the family is awful. The administration only cares about the bottom line and cares nothing about their residents and families. I would not recomment this facility if you care about your family member.

I think Gorham House is really a good facility. They have really good food. The staff are caring and I think some are very knowledgeable and perceptive on how to take care of a patient with brain injury. The staff enjoys where they work.

My grandfather was a resident at the Gorham House. He had late stage Alzheimer's and after home care was too difficult he was moved here to be close to our family and get the 24/7 care he needed. The staff was always pleasant and welcoming. There interaction on both a personal and medical level left us at ease knowing that our loved one was well cared for. The facility was clean and well kept. The location and grounds were convenient with plenty of parking for visits. The rooms were bright and by bringing in personal belongings a real sense of home could be replicated. There was always an atmosphere of life going on and it seemed as if there was a steady stream of events to keep the days interesting and meaningful. The time he spent under their care allowed the entire family to enjoy his remaining time more fully as the burden of care was lifted. The Gorham House was a wonderful choice for my grandfather and for us.

In my experience, Gorham House in Gorham, Maine provides top-notch care for residents. My great grandmother was a resident there for several years during her struggle with dementia. The staff were outstanding and supported our family during a very difficult time in our life. We felt safe having Nona there and knew she was being well taken care of by the staff. They have a secure unit and it really helped put our mind at ease. Another great thing about Gorham House is that they have a ton of activities on site for residents and family. They will take residents out to the theater or shopping at local stores. They also have a pre-school program on site which I think is really neat! There are plenty of adoptive grandparents for these kids! It definitely offers a lot of opportunities for cross-generational sharing and fun. Our family definitely recommends Gorham House as one of the best local assisted-living facilities.

I recently visited the assisted living unit of Gorham House abd was very impressed. The residents there were well cared for. They looked very happy. The staff was very caring and interacted well with their residents. They talked as well as listened to their residents. The call lights were answered in a timely manner. I had the opportunity to see how their dining was conducted. Their meals were served in a dining room, restuarant style. The food smelled and ;looked wonderful. The residaents were chatting and visiting with each other as well as the nursing and dietary staff. I was impressed by the activity department. They seem to find appropriate and enjoyable activities. The staff is friendly and made me feel welcome. The appearance of the building was welcoming with big overstuffed chairs and sofas in the lobby. The residents have their own little apartments there with a kitchenette, dining room, living room and bedroom and bathroom, the seemed genuinely happy to be living there.
