My father is now in Cogir at the Quarry. He has been staying here, and I wouldn't want to leave either because there's a lot of nice people here and he's got lots of friends. There are lots of activities. The food is good. He has three choices, which is what he really wanted. There are two main entrees and there's a little cafe type place here, too, where he can get a hamburger or sandwich or anything like that. There are places where you can play board games and puzzles, there's a lot of bingo, there's just a lot of interaction. Everybody's been really helpful.

I stayed at Cogir at The Quarry for about six months. It was excellent. The staff was excellent, and the caregivers were really great. The food was good. Everything was good there. I had to have someone help me with my bathing and stuff. I had a studio, and it was much smaller. I had a hospital bed and a bathroom. For what I was doing, it was fine. Then I progressed to the point where I needed to get out of there. They had a pool. They had a gymnasium, but there wasn't quite as much equipment there as the other place. They had a salon, and they had a gal that cut hair. The access to the grounds was easy. They had nice grounds there and a nice garden area. Everything about it was great. Their physical therapist on-staff was great. I used the exercise room as part of my rehab, and that was good as well.

We toured Cogir at The Quarry. It's like a cruise ship without the water around it. If they could float that thing, it would be a cruise ship. It is fabulous. The people were very nice. It was a very friendly community. The food was excellent from what we've seen. We looked at the menu and had a tour of the facilities. The only thing I could say negatively about it is that it would be easy to get lost there just because it's a big facility. They have five restaurants and a big movie theater. It's pretty snazzy. It's the nicest facility we went through. They have very nice rooms. Even what they had for the respite was a fabulous room. It's clean, nice, and very well laid out. They'll take them for two weeks whereas most of the other places want 30 days for them to be there.

Cogir at The Quarry was by far the best place we looked at. I liked the facility. The staff was excellent and the residents were more active than any of the other ones that we visited. The tour leader knew every person's name that we met (there were like 300 people there). We talked to several of them and they also said that it's the best place to live. We talked to the chef. If you don't like what's on the menu, they'll cook what you want. Their activities were very broad. They have a large saltwater pool, so you can do water aerobics, and they do trips both weekly and monthly, and then once in a while, overnight trips are well arranged. They were exceptional.

I have chosen Cogir At The Quarry. I like the atmosphere, the friendliness of the people (both the staff and the residents), and the amenities. They have a swimming pool, a spa, a library, a craft room, and just all the different activities that they have going on. They have a bus that will take you. They make sure you're not idle. One of the selfish reasons I was doing this was to get me out into socialization a little bit more because I'm pretty isolated where I'm at now. I need socialization and to be around other people, and this was a good opportunity. It looked like they provide it, so that's why I went with it. I was pleased with how friendly everybody was and how helpful everybody was. The apartment is really large compared to most of them that I have looked at. The only negative thing that I found with the apartment is the color, but you can't have everything. I have to change my décor around it and go back to the colors that I had before.

I went to Cogir at The Quarry. It was a lovely tour and people were just more than friendly and helpful. It was a lovely place. It was just out of my price range. I'm quite a healthy individual. I still drive and I don't need housekeeping. You have to just go for the whole package. There's no in between. You can't ease into all the extras that they provide. You have to have all of it or none of it (e.g., housekeeping, linens).
