I visited this facility

Everyone seemed very helpful and very accommodating at Nottingham Village. It looks like a great fit for mom. She would be in a single home, which was beautiful. It was a ranch. They have a garage, a screened-in porch, two bedrooms, and two baths. They have a senior center, they do all kinds of activities, they have a schedule that they do every month, and they offer meals there if you choose (or you can have your own). They have a restaurant, a small exercise room, and they offer transportation if you need it within so many miles, and that is included with their maintenance fee each month. There are little walking areas all around.

The dining assistants really do not make sure everyone gets the help they need eating; a lot of times if they can’t feed themselves, well they are not hungry. Also, they do not feed people food per their diet. Diabetics get lots of starch and dessert. This does not help sugar numbers. Could use mor variety of options. Rooms are clean and bright. I believe they are really under staffed, staff mean well but not enough per floor therefore clients may sit in dirty clothes because they didn’t get to bathroom on time. Then we are charged for creams to treat sore areas. I must say they have done an excellent job keeping COVID out and taken the necessary precautions

I visited this facility

Nottingham Village is satisfactory, except for the fact that it would take my son a little longer to get there. I really like it though. They have separate houses, but I can have a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom. It is a smaller area, like a town that you could drive into. There are not so many stores or banks available, but it is satisfactory. The staff is very friendly. The community is very clean and well run. They have some beautiful homes. The price is a little higher, but they offer a little bit more. They have a dining room and a café where you can buy what you want.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The therapy at Nottingham Village was wonderful. They work very hard for you. The only thing I can suggest is that they need more staff. The room was fine. I had a great roommate when I first went in and also one that was not very great. Their food was fairly good.

I visited this facility

This is the cleanist Long Term Care facility I have ever been in! Everywhere I look I see a housekeeper. Pleasant, friendly environment. Staff are neatly dressed and professional. Management is very friendly and welcoming. The Therapy Department is impressive with simulation areas (a bedroom, handicapped bathroom, and kitchen area). There is also a small store to buy snacks, cards, etc in the lobby. It is refreshing (to say the least) to see the pride the staff has for this home and their residents!

I am a friend or relative of resident

I am a volunteer at Nottingham Village and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me, the people their are very kind, and it is amazing to know all of the people and the fact that I am only 11 years of age to have an amazing opportunity to meet all of these wonderful people.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother-in-law was in Nottingham Village for two years. It was fine until they kicked her out. The nurses and the people that cared for her were excellent, but the administration was terrible. They only took patients that caused no trouble or had no problems, and as soon as they did, they got rid of them. Of course, it was nice and clean and everything else, but as far as the actual place, I couldn't recommend it to anybody because at any moment, they could kick you out. As soon as you had a problem, they could kick you out and get rid of you. We were private pay so as long as you were paying them everything was lovely, but as far we needed her medicines changed and she was getting frustrated, they just sent her to a psychiatric hospital and they wouldn't take her back. They also had a nursing home there. They told us that once she progressed as she had dementia and she was staying in the assisted living, she would go to the nursing home. However, when it was time for her to go the nursing home, there was no room. They didn't want her, and they gave us a week to find another place.

They didn't treat my grandmother well. One time we went in and there was a hand shaped bruise from her being grabbed so hard on her arm. "She fell out of bed" they told us when she broke her hip, but she also had bruising on the opposite side of her body. It looked more like abuse in my opinion. They kept her so sedated on pain medication that she was incoherent. She was there because she had Alzheimer disease, not for an illness so there was no need for her to be on pain medication. I was incredibly unhappy with them and we had her removed from the facility shortly after entering. I've been to several nursing homes and this is by far the worst. I truly regret that she had to spend time there and would not recommend ever sending another family member there not even in the worst of situations.
