Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Hammersmith or Hammersmith House nursing care center is located in Saugus, MA, an area with an above average safety rating. I do not work for Hammersmith but do visit the facility to check on residents who receive care from the home health companies I work for. Hammersmith building exterior is well maintained. Residents’ rooms are of average size and look like any hospital room. Most residents share rooms. Hammersmith does provide Alzheimer’s/dementia care. The facility has a floor unit that only cares for residents with Alzheimer’s. Nurses and other staff provide 24 hours care. Hammersmith feels more like a hospital or institution because staff members and residents only interact when services are being provided. The staff does assist Alzheimer’s residents to eat their meals. The meals served do appear well balanced. I would recommend Hammersmith facility to people looking for facilities to care for their loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
