My mother in law was placed here for about 8 months. We are happy that she was in a private room and close to the nurses station because she can get very agitated and confused at night. We loved that she was under the care of Dr.Mallo, who is so caring g and attentive to his patients! The food was great, our mom was on puree diet and she liked the food and ate almost all of her meals. I liked the big dining room on the second floor, it is bright and has a great view. She became strong and we think that is because she had very good physical therapies. The staff were very caring and attentive to her, if she was ignored it was because they were understaffed and their patient ratios are too high, which I have questioned the social worker and was told it met standards. My complaint is, some of the staff were inattentive of their confused patients and ignored those who are confused and yelling, and some are on their cell phones! Overall, we were happy with the facility and we would use it again if needed.

Villa Rancho Bernardo is excellent. It's a wonderful facility. It really is. My husband is in a semi-private room with a private bath and TVs for both of the people in the room. It has a movable divider between the beds and a very large window with a beautiful view of the landscaping outside. My husband can be difficult sometimes, but the way that they approach and speak to him is outstanding. If he resists, they will step away for a few minutes. Then they'll come back and try again. They are always very courteous, very thoughtful, very pleasant, and attentive. It's expensive, but I think for the quality of care, the facility, the location, and the medical staff, it is all worth it.

I was told when my family member was looking for a new place that they had not had any C19 cases. They lead me to belive that it had been a Covid free facility. Also the food is not very health not tasteful. I keep asking to talk to the in house doctor. They say he will call me because the medications are not all correct and after 5 months and my family member ended up in the hospital. He still has not called me. It looks beautiful on the outside but the staff is disrespectful and mean. My family member has dementia and finding a good facility that will take them is not easy. Why do we not an agency that protects the clients from this.

The place is clean, it’s the only they have going for them. The staff isn’t friendly, you make one of them mad and they’re all mad. The care isn’t the best, the patients have to wait up to a hour for help and there aren’t enough CNA’s to care for the patients. Clothes, blankets personal items disappear. The food sucks. Check on your loved ones especially if they’re sick, they might need to go to the hospital and they fail at recognizing this.

My mom is in rehab at Villa Rancho Bernardo Care Center. Their phone system is terrible because you can't get through. It's a clean place, but my mom doesn't like it and complains all the time. She's not happy with it. You have to call the nurses' station to get her phone to her, and some of the nurses have kind of an attitude sometimes about having to do it. My family is trying to call my mom from out of state and nobody could get through, so they flew out here. Some of the nurses are great, but there's a lack of communication. My mom's room has two beds, and if she had issues with some of her roommates, they moved her, so that was OK. They clean the rooms but you had to share the bathrooms. Each bed has their own TV. The food is terrible. I wouldn't feed my dog that food because it's pretty gross.

Villa Rancho Bernardo Care Center is very organized, and they have the best staff. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's very nice, and the place is beautiful. We have a very nice physical therapy and occupational therapy area. It's a very big place, but everyone here is wonderful, from the nurses, to the aides, and the doctors. It's very upscale because it's in the Rancho Bernardo area, which is one of the nicest places here. I couldnt have been in a better place. The food here is very nutritious, it's just that I like Mexican food and Italian food, and they don't have that much. The nutrition regulations are very strict, but we get a lot of food, or they do whatever diet the doctor has prescribed you. I get three full meals a day, and it's always right on time. They're really conscious when it comes to the menu, and the dietician checks in regularly. My insurance pays for everything, everything was processed so smoothly, and the social workers and other people here help you so much.
