Brian Ctr Health & Rehab/salisbury

My grandfather came to this facility in May 2007 and stayed through January of 2012. This was not our first choice of a nursing home for him, it became our last option after the other 2 facilities had no availablity. The nursing home advertised to have a great rehabilitation program, full staff, lots of room for paitents, and included things like doing residents laundry and keeping hygiene up. The first year he stayed he had no physical therapy. They did not even have a physical therapist hired at the time, and this was important for my grandfather because he was a stroke paitent and the first year was crucial. His clothes were being stolen, they neglected to bathe him regularly, and didn't change him as he should have been. We had came in many times and witnessed him lasying in his own mess. We filed complaints, so he was moved to another hall. The hall he finished his stay at brought more promising results. The nurses were great to him, they took him outside for fresh air, he was always clean and he started therapy in later 2008. His clothes were still being stolen though, after they taken to be washed. We were able to bring my grandpa home this year, he is wheelchair bound but is able to do somethings on his own. The only other problem with this place was with the person who collects payments from Medicare. Brian Center called us in 2010 and said they had been overpaid by a little over three thousand dollars and asked us what we should do with the money? We told them to purchase him another tv for his room, pay for cremation in case of death and use the rest for new clothes and to keep the rest for his snack money and to pay for his haircuts and cable every month. We never seen anything from that money, no new tv, no proof of cremation, no clothes and no extra in his pocket.

My family member was treated well and recieved good care at the Brian Center. The staff was friendly and seemed to care a great deal about the patients there. The medical attention that is recieved is alsome. The staff is very friendly and always there to help. They are always willing to listen to worries and answer questions that you might have.The building was always clean and well taken care of. Lots of daylight and plants. There are activites and socializing for the patients too. I would highly recommend the Brian Center to anyone that is searching for a Nursing home or assisted living for their loved one.
