My mother was at Waverley for almost eight years, first in independent living, and then in assisted living. Waverly espouses Christian values and commitment to ongoing caring for its residents as they require more assistance. Don’t believe this. After a fall and trip to the Emergency Room, Waverley staff said they could no longer care for her and asked her to leave, refusing to assist at all with trying to locate a suitable alternate nursing home - this despite the family having always paid the very high price of Waverly care. Presbyterian homes claims to give priority to residents at ALL of their facilities based on length of residence and need. Don’t believe this. They placed huge pressure on my family to get my mother out, just washed their hands of her when she needed more help. Disgraceful for a supposedly Christian institution.
Very Poor Weekend Staffing and Care

My friend has been a assisted living resident for over two years and this past year went to a hospice care management plan. She is a proud senior and deserves proper care in line with her monthly payments to Waverly. We visit on weekends and the level of care and staffing of qualified personnel is marginal and frankly pathetic. She is left alone in her room with the door shut, has no response or very late responses to the nurse light request for meds and bathroom visits, does not have her bedding changed as scheduled during the week, is left to navigate bathroom herself, has no one to put in her hearing aides, is given meds off schedule and with varying doses to relieve pain, etc. This is very poor and disgusting care from a facility that charges big dollars and promotes themselves as the ultimate care facility. I must admit that there are a few very helpful and empathetic staff nurses and aides but these terrific people are the exception and only seem to be available during the weekdays. I do not recommend Waverly Gardens for your loved ones.

We need two bedrooms and a library in our unit and they have that at Waverly Gardens. We've been on the list there for a couple of years now. I think it's very popular or else people just aren't moving. They have a pool, and a workshop for the men, and they also have meals provided if you're interested. They have the three steps, independent living, assisted living, and beyond, which we like. It's very pretty and it looks comfortable, and we like the units that we looked at. They have a laundry facility and a fireplace. The staff during the tour was very lovely, and knowledgeable, took plenty of time with us, and answered all our questions. We stayed for lunch one day and it was delicious. They have a nice little shop and a cafe that you can go to.

Waverly Gardens was a very active and welcoming community. There were plenty of activities and my mom especially liked that there was a pool, an exercise facility, theater rooms, and a nice solarium. The apartments were clean, spacious, and updated. The dining area was very nice. A part of it looked like a restaurant, a part of it looked like a home and it was inviting. There was a salon, a library, and a room that doubled as a church and a music/activity room. Andrea gave a nice tour and was very informative. She wasn't pushy, but she answered all our questions. She even followed up after the tour to see what we were thinking.

Horrible care! My mother spent 10 days in transitional care after her surgery. We have specific instructions regarding her meals. They practically starved her! We left lots of additional food in her fridge. They never gave her any of it. She lost 12 lbs during her stay. She had numerous welts and bruises on her head and body. Very unprofessional staff. One nurse was actually wearing a “Shut Up Karen” tshirt. They nurses were dismissive and rude. The management team lied about what was going on. They promise lots of things up front but they do not deliver. I wish would could have filed charges against them!

My wife is at Waverly Gardens. She is there for long-term care. It is good. It is a nice place. They have lots of activities. The reason why we're leaving is because it is very expensive. We just can't afford that high bill. The staff is very good. Her room is more like a hospital room. She is in long-term care where the doors are open. She is almost under supervision all the time. It's a private room. She is by herself. The only activity they have is rehabilitation exercises; that's the only one I saw. The people that are there are old people and all they do is sit in their wheelchairs and do nothing all day. The only activity they have is watching TV. Food is OK.
