Becker Shoop Center, in Racine, Wisconsin offers memory care in a skilled nursing setting. They use activities and specially trained staff, such as social workers, to empower client to remain as independent as possible. They also work with the families on how to cope with the disease and its effects on their loved one and themselves. To me this is invaluable. Being family focused can help families cope with the disease and decrease feelings of sadness, frustration and anger. I was impressed with the physical facility as well. It was clean, secure but not sterile and had areas for socialization. Overall, I would recommend this facility for those seeking memory care
