Other

Poor care for my mother and the staff is disorganized and do not follow their own stated policies and procedures. Other patients were having a negative experience. Very poor staff response to the patient call button. Patients are at risk under the current management and it is not wise to admit loved ones here. Stay away.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was sent here to recover from hip surgery. 1 week into her stay she bent over and hurt herself. They sent her to Good Sam Hospital where everything checked out and she was sent back to Linden Grove. Shortly after that she started to develop a large lump on her leg. She showed the nurses, doctors and anyone she could to no avail. She ended up falling down and they failed to report it or even help her. It took another family member to go down there and DEMAND she be taken to the hospital where it was discovered that she had a hematoma. Had they paid attention to her initially, this could have been prevented. I was there one night and my mother had an accident and needed help in the restroom-we pulled the string for help and waited for at least 10 minutes. Nobody showed up. It was then I went to the nurses station to ask for help and the charge nurse didn't even look at me when I was asking for help for my mom, like it was not important to her at all. Let me not forget to tell you that it took them almost 2 weeks to give my mom a shower after she was admitted here. If you care at all about your loved one, do NOT place them here. Every employee I have had an interaction with here couldn't care any less about the people they are paid to care for.

My uncle was sent to LINDEN GROVE by a orthopedic doc. after surgery from a car accident, he was suppose get therapy, that didn't happen, instead he was told he would never walk again, so they left him In bed, soon moved him on the long stay of the home, this has been 3 years ago. I went back to the surgery that did the surgery now he wants do surgery to try to get him out of LINDEN GROVE. There was plan for him to go to goodsam hospital for therapy, but gave them a bad report on to keep from going , even to go as far to say he wasn't in his right mind and they didn't think he could do therapy, how would they know? so now I am in the process of trying to move to another place if they don't try to stop that too. plus they refuse to give him his money.crazy.the admin. there is a very rude man. and some of the long time nurses.

We moved my mother to this facility after she was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer only 4 days before. Every one of her caregivers from the RN's to housekeeping were very helpful, informative, and attentive to my mom's every need as well as ours. Over all her treatment was stellar. The caring atmosphere was genuine. The staff were so helpful and empathetic to our situation. Even though her stay was short, every aspect of my mothers care was treated with dignity and respect. I would most certainly recommend Linden Grove to anyone who desires personalized compassionate care.

I moved my father from Linden Grove as it turned in to a nursing home situation, and I said I wasn’t going to have my dad in there; it’s filthy, and it’s awful. He was there in the rehab area, and it was very nice over there. He liked the nurses; they were very polite and he really enjoyed it. He got to talk to a couple of guys there. He really enjoyed that side; he could have lived there, he was so happy there. They decided why he wasn’t going to be going through too much, so we moved him over to the long term. In the long term, he had no telephone, no TV set, and he had nobody to talk to. They didn’t make his bed; it was terrible. My dad had a $3000 hearing aid they put in safe keeping, and then they lost it. It’s gone. We are not happy about it, and we do not seem to get too much back on it. Their long term is crap.

She went into Linden Grove Rehabilitation Care Center. It has two sides to it. My mom was in their star therapy which is rehabilitation. She has broken her hip. And the other side is for people who need a lot of care. Linden Grove was a great facility; it was top notch all the way around. The grounds were great. The people were wonderful. The building itself -- not only the residents’ room but the common rooms and the eating facility -- was very clean. It’s rehabilitation, so she shared a room with another resident. My mom happened to get a bed by the window so she had an extra alcove with a desk in it which was really nice. The food was good. I didn’t eat there myself, but I was there a couple of times when they were serving a meal. Everything looked wonderful and smelled good. My mom really enjoyed the food there. She did games, bingo, cards, and went to a movie within the facility. They also did field trips. She got to go to a Country Manor and tour in the area. The people treated our mom like she was a queen. They have a social worker who helped us tremendously in getting my mom Medicaid/Medicare and all of that stuff taken care of, an activity director who keeps the folks pretty busy, and a medical record section that helps set up her appointment if she needed to go to the doctor and transportation. My mom felt very much like the people there cared about her. One nurse in particular (and it’s funny because this is the one that my mom didn’t get her name, but when she was on the night shift at bedtime) would tuck my mom in and give my mom a hug and a kiss. We did notice that some of the patients had smiles on their faces; it was a really nice atmosphere.

My mom is in a rehab center right now at Linden Grove. They have been wonderful. She has been there a couple of months now. It's a great place and it is a very clean facility. They have lots of good group activities. They do a lot of current affairs and bingo. The staff is wonderful. Their nursing care is great. They have a doctor onsite most of the time, which is also great. They're really good especially for the rehab.
