Arizona Grand Senior Living Community is an nice facility. I have worked in the building and also have received referrals from Arizona Grand Senior Living Community this year. This building has an independent, assisted living, and skilled nursing buildings located in the beautiful Biltmore Area. This building offers a wide range of services for seniors.
Arizona Grand is very nice for seniors who are still active and social. The assisted living side is great for active seniors. The skilled nursing side is smaller with fewer beds than most facilities, but is clean and staff has been pleasant since I could remember.
From clients I have had complaints that the management doesn't listen to the residents concerns when they have them. My one client I had that lived there was evicted because he kept complaining to management and they didn't do anything so he went to corporate. Corporate fixed everything, but management was upset he went to corporate and he was evicted. From my observation other than that I have never not once seen an unhappy resident from the assisted living side prior to this.
The skilled nursing side is a little different. Every referral that has come from the skilled nursing side has all said the same things. For example, loved ones could never get ahold of their family members that were there because the phone in rooms didn't work or they couldn't reach them through the nursing staff.
In general, I would rank this facility a four out of five stars because Arizona Grand can provide all levels of care and there is something for every senior that decides to reside there.
I am a friend or relative of a resident
My husband's father stayed here for about a year. My husband and I checked it out ahead of time and the residents seemed reasonably happy, the place was clean, and they seemed to offer a variety of activities. We were paying for my father-in-law to have his own room since he is very independant but he just needs a little help from time to time. My father-in-law agreed to living there and we visited him often. The staff was always friendly when we were there and they seemed to be very good with him in terms of helping him with what he needed help with yet letting him still have his own independece. After a while my father-in-law seemed to be unhappy but he would always say he was fine and that he was having fun. Eventually we brought him home to live with us. I do not think it had too much to do with this living facility, it is beautiful, clean, the dining area is like something from a fancy restaurant not a cafeteria. But my father-in-law just didn't seem to feel there were enough activities there for him to keep busy and interested in and he really did not feel like he fit in with the other people living there. I think if they did a little better with the community activities and trying to do some socializing activities this would be 5 stars.

This a nice, well maintained 3 story facility on lush grounds. They have been here 35 years.
The courtyard is medium sized but beautiful with walking paths, benches greenery, a large pavilion and rose garden. There is a fountain with beautiful statues.
The interior is well decorated with furniture statues, artwork and an aquarium.
They have a formal dining room and a ding room in the assisted living area. They offer 3 meals and snacks. They have a choice of two entrees and an alternate menu for lunch and dinner. The food is very good.
They have a library, fitness room, activity room, and beauty salon.
There are Rns 24/7 and 2 to 3 certified caregivers. They have three doctors who come in and they offer transport to appointments. Hospice is available. They have an activities director. The staff is nice and caring. They do all three levels of care so residents can stay in their apartment as their health level changes.
There are numerous in house activities as bingo, cards, socials, bbqs, exercise program, movie theater, and outside entertainment as bands ets. They transport to shopping and other outside events, luncheons, restaurants, and movies.
This is a good facility in my opinion.
Other
The library is probably one of my favorite area of this facility because there always seem to be residents in there reading or relaxing on the comfy furniture, everyone knows that it is the best place to relax and take a minute to catch your breath so every respects the quiet. The other common areas are just as lovely for different reasons. I always see residents out socializing and having fun with one another. The residents all seem to really get along well with each other, and the whole community seems to be easy-going and drama free. The staff is great, though, I have had a couple of negative experiences with a couple staff members in the past regarding resident cares, those concerns were quickly resolved and the residents involved were immediately apologized to, and since then my last few visits have been worry free. Arizona Grand cares for all levels of care and they do it in a professional, loving, and accommodating manner. There are scheduled activities on a daily basis and there is ALWAYS something special going on, whether it is a birthday celebration or a theme party or special entertainment. For the residents at Arizona Grand nothing is off limits and they are encouraged to broaden their horizons and enhance their lives whether it is learning a new language, learning how to sew, whatever it may be, the residents have the support of the staff and their fellow residents to guide them through to success. The staff and residents are very close, they are really like one big happy family, and I love that about this facility. Please check out Arizona Grand, you will be SO happy you did!
