My mother is in Glendale Uptown Home. It's average. It's like a residential community. I don't care for their service, but it has improved a little bit. They finally hired more people, which is helpful. The staff depends on what shift. The day shift is a little better than the night shift. They take pretty good care of her, but we had a lot of problems initially. She seems to like the food. The dining area could be a lot better, but it's nice and clean. She's in a wheelchair. They have activities, but they don't have her do any.

This place is a dump!! Staff is rude and incompetent. My grandmother got the worst possible care on their Alzheimer's/dementia floor. I have found staff sleeping on multiple visits and patients unsupervised. They don't clean or change patients the way they should. The whole building always smells. When taking complaints to management or administrative is was like talking to a wall. I would not send my worst enemy to this place. Don't get trapped like we did! Took us 2 years to finally get my grandmother moved.

Don't make the mistake of letting Glendale Uptown Home care for your loved one. The smallest request sets the staff into a tantrum. However, the last straw was the rodent problem, mice were running around the floors and when a bug was crawling up the wall, I pointed it out to an aide. She squashed the bug on the wall and picked up the bug off the floor and disposed of it. The crushed bug stain was on the wall for a week. Don't make the same mistake we did.

New management has turned this place around. Clean, attentive staff, and a strong clinical team

Bad facility. Staff didn't read my friends chart, don't know her medical history. Staff get upset when you ask questions, they don't change diapers as they should. Go elsewhere!

This should be negative star, but that is not an option. My father was placed in Glendale for short term rehab after being in the hospital on December 22, 2012. By December 28, 2012 he developed bedsores, a fungal infection in his groin area and gangrene. None were present when he was released from the hospital for a mild heart incident on December 21 2012. As a result of the infections which he developed in Glendale he wound up losing part of one foot and had to have bypass surgery on the same leg. His original room (245) was dark and the blinds did not open fully to let light in. His current room (228) is next to a nursing station, but I have never seen anyone there. He was allowed to sit in his own bodily waste for over 25 minutes. The maintenance staff is rude. One one visit a person power cleaing the floor on the main floor yelled at me for walking on the floor, but there was no sign warning of a wet floor. I had already presssed the elevator button so I just got on when it appeared. On a visit to my father on 01/21/13, a cleaning woman told me to get out of the room while she mopped. I had only 10 minutes left on my lunch hour so I asked if she could work on another room for 10 minutes. She said "No, I have a job to do - leave" so I left. When she moved my father's wheel chair she pushed him so he faced a wall. He asked her to move him back and she said "I'm busy mopping". The carpet is the same as it was in 1997 when I went for a job interview there and has the same stains in the same places. On 01/22/13 a group of residents developed diarrhea including my father. My father received nothing for relief except for a new diaper. When my father was in the hospital he used a urinal for urinating or a commode/toilet. He did not wear a diaper in the hospital and did not wear one in a nursing facility that he was placed in earlier in 2012. I would not send a rabid dog to Glendale and am trying to figure out someplace else to send my father that his insurance will allow.
