I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is in a nursing home called Glenview Wellness and Rehabilitation. I'm very pleased with the nursing staff there. The people are very, very friendly. I haven't gotten as much from the front office as I would like or had as much communication with them, but the nursing staff, as far as I'm concerned, can't be beaten. They're very caring, very attentive, and so watchful. If there's anything going on, they're right there on top of it, and when someone calls for help, they're right there. I just can't say enough about the nursing staff now. I've been there as early as 6:30 in the morning and stayed till as late as about 8:00 at night. I think they come on at 11 and they're there till 7 or so the next morning. My daughter met the nurse that's in my husband's unit one time, and she was impressed with him. We've got excellent care. The rooms are large. The facility itself could use an update, but it's an older building. It's also a little bit hard to get in and out of. There's plenty of parking, but a lot of it is away from the front door. I have to walk with a walker, but usually, I get to park up front because I'm there early enough. I can do without some of the bells and whistles on the building; it's the care that my husband gets that concerns me. The furniture and everything are adequate; I haven't had any problem. I'm pleased with the value for money. My husband has got a lot of problems and he needs a lot of help. Like he needs help eating, and they're right there on top of that. They're very alert to the needs of the patients. My husband is getting physical therapy, and there's a speech therapist that comes in. She comes in at the lunch hour and observes what problems we're having. They have activities. There was a couple who came in with the music. There's a lady there, and they were playing a card game, and they were painting one day. They have an activity committee. They're also very strict about people coming in with their masks. They take their temperature, and I think once a week, they test the patients for COVID. When my husband left the hospital, he had a very bad diaper rash, and the first time that this young nurse had to change him, she said, 'Oh, my,' and she went out of the room and came back with some cream. She started taking care of him and she had that cleared up in two or three days. They watched him, and I'm satisfied with the care. The facility is clean. The cleaning people do an excellent job. For an older building, it's kept very well. The food is excellent. I haven't eaten it, but my husband is eating well. He is eating better there than he did at home.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Very poor rehabilitation center. The doctor visited one time in two weeks and I experienced a bacterial infection. The doctor did nothing to help with my wellness or need for rehabilitation. After five days, A kindly nurse helped determine my infection and was able to get the PA to prescribe medication. The wound therapy person was inefficient, inattentive and generally rude about doing her job. She asked what she could do to help but did NOTHING. Constant change of personnel on each shift. Very few personnel working at all, mostly temporary. Food was inedible the last week I was there. I had to have my family bring me food. The a/c went out in my room for over 24 hours and the toilet would not flush for two days. The portable potty was not emptied for two days. Horrific experience.

Room are ok, each built for 2 patients, stay away from the side with the heater if possible. The staff on the whole is fantastic, thanks to Sheila, Tamara, Jay for making experience unique due to their great attitude and empathy. The staff on 2nd shift is at best surly if not openly contemptuous. Management staff is a bit “shotgun”, all around the target with only a small percent hitting the bullseye. Food is institutional, never hot, never cold. The trainers in therapy are terrific, thanks Rose for all you help and motivation. And there is food. It is institutional, always room temperature, never correct

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife stayed at Glenview Wellness and Rehabilitation. It wasn't too bad. They had her in a private room at first which was nice, but they sent her to semi-private when she was moved to Medicaid. She liked the doctor there real well. They allowed pets, so she got to see her dog. The food was about average. The physical therapy was excellent. They tried to take care of her every day. She got out for Bingo a few times, but they had good activities there. They brought a couple of dogs in for visits for other residents. The temperature of the room was too warm and that bothered her.

My father-in-law is staying at Manorcare Health Services and we like it a lot. It's very nice and clean. He enjoys it, he likes the food, and likes the people, so he's happy there. The staff is very helpful and listens to everything he needs done for him. They have bingo, music, and movie nights.

I thought mom was very well taken cared of in Manor Care. They always have someone there round the clock. She shared a room and it's a little bit expensive. The nurses there are very nice. They had church and entertainment weekly. On holidays and special occasions, they have special activities and they invited the family.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed in Manorcare Health Services for four and a half months. The facility was exceptionally clean. The services were excellent. The nursing staff was wonderful. They were professional and they took care of me and told me how to take care of myself. I had a psychologist there who talked to me several times a week. I didn't have any problem until my last month of stay there. The lady that they had hired to be the social worker, that woman had no business to be a social worker. She hollered and screamed at me and told me how a fool I am. She attacked my family. She had an attitude. And, I don't know what happened because I had filled up my medication form, but after I was dismissed, I went for 48 hours without medication whatsoever and that is not a good thing because I live in a power chair and my pain level is high.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My dad stayed in Manorcare for six weeks before we got him out because they quit funding his Medicare. The care is a little bit better there though and we would have wanted him there but we didn't have the Medicaid approved and there's a waiting list for it. The staff was good.
