I have mostly positive experiences with the Aristocrat and its fine staff. They made the last year of my mother's life much more bearable for her, and for us. The facility has not only a secure dementia ward, but also a nursing facility. My mother was in the dementaia ward first, but spent several weeks after an illness in the nursing facility. Then, she was able to just go back to her regular room when she was on the mend. That was extremely helpful and minimized her distress. They remodeled during her time there, but even the chaos of remodeling was well-controlled. The staff was knowledgeable and pleasant and always helpful. The few negative situations we experienced were isolated and not ongoing issues. Even the owners and some relatives of former patients made it a practice to still be part of the "family." For example, on Thanksgiving, an entire family came and served the food and took care of the needs of the regular staff and residents. While I never wanted my mother to have to go away from our home, I couldn't have asked for much better treatment. They cared for her to the very end and never made us feel awkward about being there with my mother.
