I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law was at SKLD Muskegon. That was a nightmare and I have nothing good to say about them. They sent her back in the wrong clothes. Once the housekeeping called and told us she was dead and wanted to know where to send her clothes! They didn't send my mother-in-law's walker back. She was there for about two months. It was just before Christmas that the hospital sent her down there, and then it was the end of January when Medicare said she's plateaued and they're not paying anymore. We were trying to talk to those people, and every single person we talked to had a different viewpoint, and all they were doing was that they just kept reading her chart. We weren't allowed to ever come in, but we could stand out her window. My mother-in-law is deaf, so we couldn't do Zoom and things like that, so we would just hold up posters and write things on them, we could read her lips and she reads our lips. She also said the food was awful. Every time we went to the window, they never got her out of her wheelchair. She quit using her walker and they lost her walker and they sent her home in a wheelchair. We did not see that she was participating in anything. She was usually sound asleep in her chair. The outside looked OK, but the room was dark. We had to get right up to the window to see her inside. She was in a dark room every time we looked in at her. Also, they quit giving her physical therapy. When was the last time she had physical therapy? January 23rd. That's terrible. Once we had to start paying on our own, it was $12000 for the month.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was at Heartland Health Care Center-Knollview and it was horrendous. She was there for a very short time, and I was very unhappy with it. They were very unprofessional. One worker would be fantastic and the other one would be just awful, and that's just talking about the nurse's aides. I don't think there was one nurse there that I liked. They're very indifferent, very cold, and unapproachable. They make you feel like you're bothering them. I don't know if they have too big a caseload or what. They have all kinds of activities, but they never came and got my mom for them. They told her they were going to take her down to get her nails done and never did. They do movies on Fridays, and they never got her for that. She was not in her right mind and she would say no, but they wouldn't encourage her. They were happy that she just wanted to lay in her bed and they didn't have to get her up. While she was there, they put her in hospice, and we let them do that thinking she would get better care, but nothing changed, it was still the same. The food according to her was awful. It never looked appetizing. I've talked to a lot of people that had their loved ones in there and they were working on getting them out too.
