My grandmother was a resident at the nursing home for over 4 years, before going home to visit her maker. I visited on a monthly basis. At first she was very unhappy to be away from home, after the first couple of months there was nowhere else she had rather be. They had arts & crafts and music time. There were lots of hands on activates she could be involved with. She loved having the visitors (local school children, girl scouts, and church groups) were always popping in to spread cheer. It was always a very clean facility and the food really wasn't that bad. The staff was always friendly and even remembered me by name (even though I wasn't a daily or weekly visitor). They also let us use their cafeteria on numerous occasions, weather it be a family birthday or everyone trying to get together to see granny for the holidays. If you are close to the Monterey area, I highly recommend Standing Stone.
