    I visited this facility

My mom experienced rehab at Cameo in 2012. Her health had declined to the point where she had to move out of her first Assistant living place. The facility (nursing home part) was clean. I arrived with my mom who just got out of the hospital, one of the staff members was generous in helping my mom out of the car and into a wheel chair where she was taken to her room. She was placed with another lady who was hard of hearing and often times had the volume on her tv very loud. The nice lady hardly ever left her room which was somewhat of a problem because the volume from the tv was annoying at times for my mom. Although some shows she did enjoy but didn't enjoy the tv being on so much at a high volume. As my mom progressed with rehab, she took a liking to the physical therapist. I thought she did a good job with my mom. However, the facility had problems. Major problems. My mom began to tell me it was taking a long time to get her to the bathroom. I began to observe the times it took. I would press the button and wait and wait. At one point, it took two hours for a staff to take her to the bathroom. I felt the staff was short handed, not enough help. I didn't like the social worker's response to my concern, because she told me, my mom was making requests at busy times. I'm like when you have to go, you have to go, that is not my mom's problem! There was no room for assistant living for my mom at the time, and my mom didn't want to be in a nursing home. I was rattled by scratch marks on her arms. At that time, her needs were not as severe and needed an assistant living place that provided more care than her first one. So I set out looking for another place. The social worker struck again, this time she claimed my mom's insurance would pay for another month. A week later, she informed me that this wasn't the case. We live in the digital world, it doesn't take long to obtain that sort of insurance information. This so-called error cost my mom a couple thousand dollars. I eventually did find a decent place. Now I'm not saying you should rule this place out because it's been three years, but keep in mind, make sure you do your homework, make sure this place or any other meets the needs of your loved one. I personally wouldn't recommend the nursing home part nor their social worker (if she still works there). Hopefully they got their act together and hire more help as well as give the staff a decent wage which would help stop so much turnover as well as attract decent workers. Thank you for reading this review, I wish you well :)

    I visited this facility

My father was at Cameo Care Center after a recent hospitalization. The facility was in good repair, no odors of urine that I have experienced in other facilities. The residents appear to happy and are engaged in activities whenever I visit. If I have a concern or complaint, there are staff members available to assist. If they cannot help me, they get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I have a large family and each member can have different expectations. The facility tries to accomodate each one of us to the best of their ability, even when we are being difficult to deal with. They try very hard to make sure that dad is comfortable, safe and adjusting. He is picky with his food preferences, and changes his mind frequently and the kitchen staff does whatever they can. Our family has had an overall good experience at Cameo.
