I could not recommend this facility more highly for all stages of Alzheimer's suffers. The furnishings and design are as nice as a hotel or high-priced condo. The staff have a unique level of expertise in humanely dealing with Alzheimer's with advice based on the latest research into environmental and medical assistance. Finally, and most important, the people who come in contact with your loved ones are unbelievably gentle and patient. For all the grief we had after our mother's diagnosis, the only silver lining was that the Wealshire offered us the peace of mind in knowing she had the best of care.

This facility is situated on its own campus in a safe, quiet suburban area of mixed business and residential. The mission of the founders/owners/managers is to provide care specifically tailored to persons with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. There is a nursing facility and also a new assisted living component. This review refers to the nursing facility, which has several distinct areas that are geared towards caring for individuals at different stages of the disease process. Considerable thought was given to the design and layout of the facility which includes safe, secure outdoor areas for residents and families to enjoy. There is a lobby area as well as a main common area outside of the nursing care units that families can utilize for visiting. Additionally there are common areas within each section of the nursing care units that are enjoyed by families and visitors. Much attention has been paid to aesthetics which are overall warm, pleasing, and upscale both in common areas and in resident rooms. Rooms are average to above-average size and available in private and shared arrangements. Natural light is incorporated nicely in most all rooms. Fixtures and furnishings are tasteful and there is generally enough space to bring in at least some personal items. The food is above average in appearance, presentation, and taste. Care staff is generally adequate to above average in number and availability to meet resident needs. All staff is polite, professional, and committed to the mission of the facility. It is noted that although the facility specializes in dementia, this is not to infer that they will always accept every resident with dementia, as they do have an admission review process that looks at diagnoses and behaviors appropriately closely.
