I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was at this place for a week. I had to MAKE them call 911 while visiting for the second time that day even after my mother had repeatedly asked them to. 15 hours later she died in the ICU. My mother is gone but no one should have to go through that. Negligence, lack of training, lack of empathy, ect. When the call button is pushed they have someone come in and ask you to turn it off on the wall. They do not ask why it was pushed and when they are told they say they will get the nurse. Whoever arrives is obviously not a nurse.

My mom went to Regent Care Center of League City. They were amazing. They were good with her. I loved their nurses. They were nice. The place was clean and the bedroom was much nicer and much cleaner. I couldn't ask for better nurses. They were so attentive, and they were just awesome people. I loved them all. Mom said the food was pretty decent. As far as activities, she was actually in quarantine because she just came from the hospital. She loved it thereafter she got over being afraid. She hated to leave. Her room was beautiful. The nurses were nice. I love the girls in the quarantine area because I didn't deal with anybody else in any of the other areas. As far as the nursing staff in the quarantine unit, they were just awesome. The facility was very nice.

My dad was in Regent Care in League City for rehab. It was very nice and they were very caring. They're very one-on-one with you, like if you have a problem you can always call them and they will answer your question. They're very alert and very respectful of his care, so I really like them. He had a private room there, but he was in the COVID holding area for the first 14 days because they wanted to make sure he didn't have the COVID.

They do a terrible job with laundry yet they won’t let me do my mother’s laundry. They lie about their laundry service. The laundry room has massive amounts that they won’t sort and deliver. They don’t care that my mom sleeps without pajamas even though she has at least 12 sets. Food has always been horrible, but it’s worse now. I’m so sad about the way they are treating their residents. Don’t let their “Special Meals” lure you in! Rooms are too small. My mom has to share a tiny closet with her roommate. The poorly-paid staff do not care. They do not return calls when specific concerns are left. This has been a nightmare since the shut-down began.

Everytime I visit my mother she is laying in a soaked bed in her own urine. Then manager is the rudest person and then her employees. She's actually told me within 7 months apart to find somewhere else for my mother? Instead of learning how to run a facility

Regent Care is near my son’s home, which is why we chose it for my wife. The rooms are very nice and clean. They have shared and private rooms.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I am a nurse practitioner and had my Mother in the facility until the call came in May 2016. Mom is 89 years old and suffers from Alzheimer's but she was wheelchair bound and able to transfer to bed with assistance until.... I received a call on a Sunday that she had a "swollen knee". I arrived, after church, to find her significantly dehydrated and an obvious fracture of her Right knee. Her Right knee was so horribly shattered, surgery was too high a risk. I arranged her to be transported to a local hospital only to find that she had fractures to both knees and nobody knew what happened!! Amazing! Sure- everyone was real "sorry" but both fractured legs at age 89? Appalling! She had no splinting to her legs or pain medication for 24 hours. I had just visited her the day before. Sadly society doesn't tolerate such abuse towards children- as a family member, nobody should have to go thru what she has gone thru! She is now on hospice with limited time to live. This facility staff scares me!! I asked the administrator to put in cameras and his response was simply, "I need to think about that!" Really? What's there to think about? A rating of 1 is generous- if I could it would be a -10.

I visited this facility

We did not choose Regent Care Center of League City for my mother-in-law because they did not accept Medicaid. Although it was a very nice facility. Everything was pleasant about the place. It didn’t have the smell of a usual nursing home, and the people seemed to be happy.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I had my mother transferred to Regent Care Center. She’s in a room by herself. It is a fairly new and nice facility, and it seems to be well staffed. It has a big nurse’s station in the middle and 5 or 6 wings out from there. It has outdoor areas, and it’s well-decorated. There are activity rooms and a lot of activities. It has 3 dining rooms. It has a big dining room that’s nice for those that can go in and eat. It has a smaller dining room where they can get assisted for eating if they need assistance. There’s a little private dining room where if their families come, they can eat or have a party here. I have had some problems. I went one time and they had moved my mother and didn’t tell me, so I couldn’t find her. They’re supposed to let you know if they moved the residents. I kept asking for her clothes and her belongings to be moved into this room. Finally, I went and got them myself, and I couldn’t find it all, so stuff went missing. It’s not wonderful.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My brother and I toured this facility and thought it would a great place to for my mom who was diagnosed with dementia in 2008. When setting everything up, I did let the facility know that she does wander around and they assured me that it would not be a problem because they have monitors that will sound an alarm if she tried to exit the building. She entered the facility less than 2 months ago. Everything was going well and I have been pleased with her health so far. There were days when I would visit and she would be up walking around with other residents and was very responsive. She rarely speaks but on good days will nod and smile. I had a phone conference a couple of weeks ago and the nurses and social worker told me she was doing really well, she is very sweet, and they love having her there. Two days ago I recieved a call stating that her face was a bit swollen and they felt she needed to see the dentist because they thought she may have an infection in her mouth. Yesterday I get a call from a new social worker who stated my mother wanders around to much and they want me to move her to a different facility because she could just walk out the door and they can't have that kind of liability. They gave me 30 days to find a new facility for her. The thing that upsets me is that I placed my mom in this facility and they assured me there would not be an issue and less than 2 months later, I have to uproot her again and find new home for her.....

My Mom was placed in this facility and received great care until about 6 months ago, She no longer gets her showers, the food is horrible. She doesnt get proper medical care. If you care for your loved one I would not suggest placing them in this facility.I am rating one star only because I don't have a no star option

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My wife, during the course of her dementia after we moved to League City, was in three different skilled nursing facilities for rehabilitation. This was the only one of three where I felt I did not have to look over their shoulder to make sure she got proper care. The place is clean -- not the usual nursing home smells -- and the staff was friendly and attentive. Although I brought her home on hospice, I would not have felt devastated to place her here as a resident. I cannot say the same about the other nursing homes I've seen.

I am a friend or relative of resident

The facility is beautiful, however, after placing my mom there I realized that their care was not up to par. After daily visits, I felt that they acted as if the residents were objects and not human beings. They crushed meds because they didn't want to take the time for the patient to swallow medication, lost clothes even though a sign was on the door that the family would do the laundry. It is also hard to get someone to help with problems ... you are referred to several people before finally being told that you must file a grievence and wait for the results. I moved mom to a personal care home and she has began to heal and have a better quality of life that this home had told me would never happen.
